I love to read! My mom was a school teacher and as a child we never went without books. We had shelves of books in our rooms as wells as shelves in the family room. My siblings and I were usually always the top in our class for reading contests. We all just love to get lost in books.
I wasn't able to read for FUN when I was going through high school and college. (Don't worry I read my fair share, but not anything I would call "fun" informative yes, but fun no.) Once I graduated I picked up novels like nobody's business and have been making up for lost time!
Some of my fellow bloggers put up book reviews and share their thoughts on novels. I love it. I have picked up a few books I never would have read if it hadn't been for their recommendations. I truly appreciate all of my friends' insight into novels. I am hoping I can be just as insightful for my blog readers.
I am warning you I am very opinionated! I have certain "classic" authors I can't stand! I read a lot of mystery novels, but do adventure out to other genres on occasion. Please feel free to comment and ask questions. Just don't be offended!

11 Months Old
When Grant and his cousin Evelyn were 11 months old I had a little photo shoot. Grant and Evelyn play so well together. They talk to each other. It is fun to watch them play together because what ever one does the other one has to do too. It is so much fun. I love my niece so much. Evelyn is so different and so girly compared to Grant. It has been a blast to see how much difference there is between girls and boys at such a young age.

Granny's piano is the best toy ever! Grant and Evelyn love to climb up to the piano and play pretty music.

I am very amazed at how much taller Grant is than Evelyn!

Oh no no do-nut!
If anyone knows Kyle very well they know that he loves doughnuts more than anything else! He loves almost any kind, which is why we usual have doughnuts in our house! Well, since we had the little mini ones I thought Grant would like to try one. Well, as you can see he truly enjoyed the doughnut. I love how innocent he looks.

Birthday Ideas
As unreal as it is to me my little boy is going to be one in a few weeks. It scares me at how fast time flies! I am trying to be really excited for his birthday. I didn't realize that this is such a big event. Well, he doesn't care but I do. I just wondered if anyone has any cute ideas or helpful hints. I don't really want anything extravagant, but I don't want it lame either.

The Dresser!
I mentioned the fact that Grant is into everything now. Well, the pots and pans were really no surprise. I knew the day would come when my pans would be everywhere. However, I sort of didn't think about the dresser. I was putting clothes away and Grant was helping me reorganize them. Apparently, mom doesn't know how to put his bibs and sheets in his drawer the way he likes. I thought it was so cute. He was giggling with delight as he pulled each item out of the drawer. It was great fun.
I am a little sad that my baby will be one! It has gone by too fast. I don't want him to stay a baby forever, but I can't believe he is as big as he is. The phrase about "enjoying today" becomes really quite important when you have a child. I try not to push him into the next step like walking, but rather I try to enjoy the rough knees and dirty pants from crawling everywhere. Eventually he will be walking and then I will wish he would crawl.

Pots and Pans
The day has arrived! Grant is into everything now that he can crawl and stand up to things. He found the pots and pans. Oh glory be! He had a great time. He lost one of the handles in the cupboard and made so much noise it sounded like New Years Eve. The best part was that Kyle was so tired that he crashed on the couch and slept through the whole thing. When I should him the pictures he couldn't even believe that he had slept through such noise!

Christmas Morning
We had so much fun celebrating Grant's first Christmas. We had to open presents before we got dressed and ready for the day. I think it is a rule! Any way, Kyle and I bought each other a new tv two months before Christmas so the only unwrapping we did was peeling the protective tape off the side of the tv. Grant had a great time with his presents. He got a tool set and just loved it! He loved it so much that he shoved the screwdriver right down his throat within minutes of opening the tool set. Luckily Kyle got it on camera!
