Million Dollar Baby

In the first week of October we found out we were having a boy. The nurses at my doctor's office didn't need to even ask the gender of our baby because Kyle was glowing! He couldn't even make it outside the office before he had everyone called up to announce the generic "peanut" was now officially a boy! As we were preparing for boy "peanut" to come we spent many hours and many dollars at baby stores. When Kyle found this Nike outfit he had to get it! I think the outfit cost more than all of my exercise outfits combined, but it was cute the Kyle was so excited for his baby!

Grant thinks he is pretty handsome himself!

Bath Time

Grant has decided he loves baths now! He lays in his tub enjoy himself, but then we get him out. He doesn't not like going from a warm bath to being cold. Then his mean mother puts cold lotion on his skin. To protest he rubs his head on his towel resulting in a very unique hair do!

We think he is pretty cute and obviously he does too!

One Month

Grant and I were both shocked to realize that he is already one month old! It is crazy how February went so slow and March has gone by so fast! Grant is getting so big! He already weighs 9 pounds!

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter! I love turtles and so I had to get Grant a turtle Easter basket! It is too easy to buy things for babies!

"Pebbles and Bam Bam"

Erin had her baby Evelyn just 3 days after I had Grant. We have had so much fun hanging out while we are both on maternity leave! We joke that Grant and Evelyn are going to be buddies like the Flinstone's Pebbles and Bam Bam! My mom and dad are going crazy having two brand new babies around. It is very nice to have family there to support us! I love seeing my dad with the babies, it is a whole new side I have never seen before!

Four Generations

Edward is a very special name in Kyle's family! It has been in his family for more than seven generations. Here is a picture of Great Grandpa Albert Edward, Grandpa Grant Edward, Kyle Edward and Grant Edward! I think it is pretty cool!

First Bath

Grant didn't enjoy his first bath very much. He cried and screamed the whole time. Kyle hated his naked bath pictures that his mom took of him, so Kyle insisted we keep him modest, hence the water scoop over his private.

Bless the person who invented "plugs." So mom and dad don't have to listen to baby cry all the time.

Please don't ever make me do that again, please! I beg you!

First Photos

When we moved to Tremonton I was surprised to find that my friends Leslie and James Miller live in our ward! Leslie was an old roommate from college. It has been nice to have someone I know out here. (Otherwise I would have to find new hobbies like BW-ha ha) Leslie took these darling pictures for me! Here are just a few of my favorites! We really captured his personality!

Grant the Adorable

Grant is our new entertainment! We love to watch his funny faces (especially when he has gas)!!! He has such a darling personality.

OK he is cute most of the time!

The Hospital Stay

We stayed in the hospital until Wednesday morning. Here are a few pictures of Grant with our family and friends that came to visit us.

Kyle loves his son. Good thing because sometimes Kyle thinks babies look like aliens, I am glad our son is not an alien.

I had been drugged with morphene in this pictures so pardon my half sleepy look.

My dad is now a Grandpa!

Kyle's brothers Lee and Chris are so excited to be uncles. It is kind of hard to see in this pictures but Grant is definetly a Maybury boy!

This is unofficial "Aunt Breezie" with baby!

I didn't get to see Grant for over 7 hours! It was about 9:30 AM Sunday morning before the nurse would finally let me down to the NICU to see him. It is absolute torture laying in a hospital bed watching the clock and waiting until someone will let you see the baby you have been carrying for nine months! It was the worst and longest hours of my entire life! I think it is mean to make a mother wait so long before she can see her baby.

Mom and baby in the NICU meeting each other for the very first time!

Grant Edward Maybury

Grant was born on February 24 at 1:40 AM. I had to have an emergency C-section because he wouldn't come out. He swallowed some miconium because he was under stress and so Grant went to the NICU to have his lungs suctioned. He was there for about a day and a half and was able to come up to my room. Lucky for us to have our son close to us and lucky for the NICU because they had a hard time finding big enough diapers to fit my 8 lb. 3 oz. baby.
